Unidentified Confederate two band percussion rifled musket patterned after U.S. Model 1861 showing 1855 style hammer attributed to unknown Confederate maker showing unusual olive shaped bolster and with date or numbers 62 at the center portion of the lock plate and 1864 behind the hammer. The musket measures 48 ½” overall with 32” barrel and is bored out to .62 caliber smoothbore and appears to have been .58 or smaller by the thickness of the barrel.. The metal surfaces show a dark brown patina finish with scattered light to moderate pitting and erosion and some slightly heavier pitting in a few areas on the barrel and trigger guard. The stock is darkened from aging and oiling with some weathering, minor scratches, dents and imperfections but generally good. The original swivels are retained and an old ramrod is included. There is an old stamped number 35 in the wood by the butt plate on the top of the comb. Other numbers are 104 on the top of the barrel in front of rear sight and 103 on the trigger guard near the trigger bow. Both Donald E. Bryan and Bill
