19th Century Brass Barreled Percussion Pistol, NVSN, approx. .54 smoothbore cal., 8.5'' barrel marked ''London'' on top flat, two proofmarks on left flat, engraving at barrel breech and iron tang. Serpentine iron lockplate marked ''Richardson'' and with floral engraving, matching engraving on hammer and triggerguard bow. Brass ramrod held by brass thimble integral with barrel, iron rear thimble. Iron triggerguard with fancy pineapple style front tang, German silver trap for percussion caps in butt. 2 German silver barrel wedge escutcheons, German silver forend cap. Varnished walnut (or fruitwood) stock with basketweave checkering. Condition is very good with clean metal and clear markings; stock is solid and unmarked but for crack emanating from stock retaining screw at left breech area. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
