19th Century Scottish basket hilt broadsword, blade etched with maker’s name in Edinburgh approximately 4” from hilt across blood grooves of blade (possibly Abert Corvay, but somewhat illegible because of the bloodgrooves); blade measures approximately 33.625”, sword is approximately 39.5” overall; grip is sharkskin with wire wrap, hilt shows light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting and natural age; blade alsoshows light to moderate pitting and a dark brown patina but generally good overall.
