1) FLYING TIGERS AMERICAN VOLUNTEER GROUP POSTER: Months prior to the December 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, an amazing group of civilian, volunteer pilots were assembled to slow Japans air assaults in China.. They were essentially citizen Soldiers of Fortune, hired by China to fight back against Japan, originally known as the American Volunteer Group (AVG) and later branded "The Fighting Tigers". Their success was amazing w/ some serious bounties paid for downing Japanese planes. They were officially integrated into the US military in 1942 as part of the 23d Fighter Group. This poster measures 20"x24" and contains a photo of a Curtis P40, tail number 93, boxed with the photos of a dozen pilots, and 4 action and group shots. It contains t pilot signatures. IT is mounted on a 29.5"x40" foam backer board and sealed in plastic. Poster is captioned: "FLYING TIGERS AMERICAN VOLUNTEER GROUP / CHINESE AIR FORCE / JULY 4, 1941 - JULY 4, 1942 / CHINA BURMA INDIA". CONDITION: The signatures on the poster have been well preserved, since it is encased in plastic. The poster contains several wrinkles earned prior to mounting. Foam backer is in great condition illustrating proper care.
2) DOOLITTLE'S D-DAY LIMITED EDITION PRINT BY ROBERT TAYLOR. .This print is numbered 155/500. This print commemorates the mission flown by Jimmy Doolittle, the Supreme Commander of the U.S. Airforce, who wanted to personally witness the invasion of Normandy. He piloted a P-38 across the beaches for two hours. When he returned to base he reported directly to General Eisenhower’s headquarters to provide the first report beating the official intelligence reports by several hours. Print measures 23.5"x37.5" and contains 6 signatures. It is mounted on a 30"x40" foam backer boars and wrapped in plastic. CONDITION: Print is free from an visible blemishing & signatures appear well preserved and clear. Foam backer is in excellent condition illustration after mounting. (02-16953-21/JZ). $200-400
