HATS.
1) M1902. A very fine example of an M1902 undress general officer’s hat from Maryland. Hat features a black crown & a black velvet band w/ gold & silver bullion embroidery, highlighted in red, expertly added to the front of the hat. Gold chinstrap w/ Maryland buttons. Full sweatband. Crown is marked, “NEW YORK CLOTHING HOUSE BALTIMORE, MD. J.C. LINTHICUM”. CONDITION: hat shows very light wear w/ minor crazing to visor.
2) 1920’s. A beautiful example of a 1920’s or 1930’s full dress state of Maryland general officer’s hat. Hat features a black crown & black velvet band. There is a lg. silver & gold bullion eagle embroidered to the front of the hat w/ a black & red highlighted Maryland shield on its chest. There are bullion oak leaves & acorns embroidered around the entire band & on the visor of the hat. Gold chinstrap w/ Maryland side buttons. Full sweatband. Interior is marked, “NEW YORK CLOTHING HOUSE BALTIMORE, MD.”. There is a silk tape on the interior bearing the gold letters, “Genl. Harvey L. Cooper”. CONDITION: hat is quite striking in appearance showing only a few minor moth nips near the edge of the crown. (02-15774/BF). $800-1,200.
