BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE M. KIMBALL, SURGEON GENERAL OF THE NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIONAL GUARD 1907-1911.
1) M1902. Hat features a black crown w/ a midnight blue velvet band. There is an exceptionally beautiful & incredibly well done silver & gold bullion eagle embroidered directly to the front of the cap. Gold chinstrap terminated by state of New Hampshire staff buttons. Bound visor w/ a brown sweatband. Interior of hat is marked, “SUPERIOR QUALITY The HENDERSON-AMES CO. KALAMAZOO, MICH.” & “G. M. Kimball”. CONDITION: hat body, band & eagle show very light wear. Visor has some heat crazing. Interior shows light wear w/ sweat stains on the front of the sweatband.
2) M1902. Hat features a black crown w/ a black velvet band. There is an attractive silver & gold bullion eagle embroidered directly to the front of the cap. Gold chinstrap terminated by state of New Hampshire staff buttons. Bound visor w/ a brown sweatband. Interior of hat has a partially legible label w/ the company name & “BOSTON” beneath. CONDITION: hat body, band & eagle show very light wear. There appears to be scattered insect damage concentrated at the bottom seam of the hat. The remainder of the hat is quite solid.
