2 GERMAN VISOR CAPS FROM THE WWI TO WWII ERA.

1) BAVARIAN. This visor cap has a rubberized cloth crown painted white & a forest green band. The chinstrap is green with silver bullion edging. The peaked front of the cap has a 12 rayed starburst with a blue & white checked shield in the center. Patent leather visor. Interior label reads "PETER KUPPER KG 56 WUPPERTAL 21" along with a size "57" mark. CONDITION: white painted crown is quite crazed but intact. Remainder shows light wear.
2) AUSTRIAN. This visor cap has a dark green crown & band with maroon piping. The chinstrap is gold bullion. There is a gold bullion cockade with a red & white enamel center at the peak. At the front of the band is an Austrian eagle with a red & white enamel shield on the chest all surrounded by a wreath. The left side has a circular sword & shield device on a maroon backing. The interior has a partially legible maker's mark under the sweat shield & the name "Norbert W O L F". CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear. There is some heat damage to the visor. Sweatband has a tear & moderate wear. Sweatshield is worn. (02-17123/BF). $400-600.
