1) JAPANESE TYPE 99 RIFLE MANUFACTURED BY NAGOYA ARSENAL. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 80656. Bbl. 25.5". Receiver marked on left wall w/ Nagoya arsenal mark. Receiver ring has intact mum & characters for Type 99. Straight bolt handle w/ oval knob. Bolt handle is bent slightly rearward. Notched, flat, welded safety. S# matches on receiver, bolt, extractor & bayonet lug. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1500m w/ anti-aircraft wings. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod is not present. 2 Screw upper band. Rear screw is not present. Bipod is not present. Hardwood stock set w/ 2 piece buttstock construction. Cup type buttplate. 2 Screw butt swivel. Sm. recoil bolt. CONDITION: stock set has wear, staining, w/ numerous dents & scratches throughout. Metal has turned mostly gray w/ patina. Light oxidation & fine pitting scattered throughout. Good, shiny bore. (20-1442/RW). 2) SWEDISH MODEL 1896 MAUSER. Cal. 6.5x55. Bbl. 29". S# 4878. Early production Model 1896 infantry rifle. Import mark underneath bbl. All visible numbers match. Receiver is marked on top w/ Swedish crest, “CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVARSFAKTORI” & dated 1899. Has straight bolt handle. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Blade front sight. Muzzle is unmodified. Cleaning rod is present. Walnut stock set. Brass condition disk is not present in buttstock. Buttstock has rectangular plate, giving ballistic corrections for Spitzer type ammunition. CONDITION: stock set has well worn, original finish w/ dents, staining & scratches. Sm. crack behind receiver tang. Notable missing chip on left side of forend behind upper band. Metal has traces of blue turning gray w/ light wear & scattered sm. spots of oxidation. Very good, shiny bore. (20-1445/RW). BOTH CURIO. $600-900.
