2 MODERN AMERICAN LONGARMS; 1 SHOTGUN, 1 RIFLE.

1) MOSSBERG 500 PISTOL GRIP SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga. S# K652167. Bbl. 18 1/2". A cruiser style pistol gripped shotgun w/ an overall length of approx. 28". 5 Rd. tube mag. Pump action w/ dual actuator arms. Top mounted safety. Brass bead front sight, no rear sight. Drilled & tapped receiver for mount. Black plastic furniture w/ blued finish on exposed metal surfaces. CONDITION: finish bears scratches & thinning typical of range use. Receiver on the right side bears glue residue. Bore has some light fouling, but mostly bright. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (21-3517/JZ).
2) EARLY ORIGINAL ARMALITE AR-7 EXPLORER SURVIVAL RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 53983. Bbl. 16". This iconic ArmaLite takedown rifle was originally developed as a survival rifle for pilots in the newly created United States Airforce. Like its predecessor, the AR-5, the majority of the components are made of aluminum w/ steel substituted in areas of importance & the design was to be stored in the rear stock which would float in case of accidental submersion. Though the original was chambered in 22 Hornet, the AR-7s have been specific to 22 LR. Overall length when assembled is 35" while barely breaking 16 1/2" when stored in the stock. This appears to be an early example w/ a non-adj. rear sight & fixed blade front sight. Composite plastic stock houses all metal parts inside & appears to be original though the buttplate has been replaced w/ a Henry Repeating Arms Co. version. Standard blowback design, mag. fed semi auto design. No tools necessary for assembly or disassembly. MAGS: 1-8 rd. CONDITION: exposed metal surfaces still retain the vast majority of their original dark black finish w/ very little thinning or evidence of use. Stock is in decent shape overall w/ out any noticeable damage however is missing the ArmaLite plaque typically at 6 o’clock below the cheekpiece. The buttplate has been replaced w/ a newer Henry Repeating Arms Co. version that does not seal tightly. Bbl. is clean & dark still retaining strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (21-3518/JZ). BOTH MODERN. $350-550.
