Follow U.S. Highway 14, also known as the Laura Ingalls Wilder Highway, west in southern Minnesota to Walnut Grove, Minnesota. During the last 3 weekends of July each summer, Walnut Grove comes alive as they celebrate the life of this world famous author of childrens books. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at dusk the community of Walnut Grove puts on an incredible outdoor play which tells the life of the young Laura who lived here in an earth dugout home on The Banks of Plum Creek in the mid 1800s. This experience inspired Laura to write a number of childrens books and much later her best selling books would inspire a long running TV series! Included in this V.I.P Package are two premium reserved front row tickets, lodging for one couple for one night at Tracys beautiful Valentine Inn Bed and Breakfast and a $40 dining certificate for the Hideaway Restaurant in nearby Currie, MN. While in Currie there are a number of attractions to visit including an incredible railroad museum with an operational turntable, as well as beautiful and scenic Lake Shetek and Lake Shetek State Park! Board member and Past President John Coulter and his wife Muriel who live in Tracy, promise to show you all the sights if you want a tour guide!
