PISTOLS. 1) Cal. 58. NSN. Circa 1740 European flintlock. 18 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 12" oct to rnd. 4 stage. Lock is signed in script below pan "GREEN". Unbridled frizzen w/ high neck serpentine cock. Brass mounted on highly figured stock. Lock escutcheon is pierced w/ intertwined serpents. CONDITION: good overall. Metal is dark gray/brown patina w/ pitting. Top jaw & top jaw screw replaced. Stock has crack repair forward of trigger bow finial beneath lock. Last 4" of forestock has spliced repair. Mechanics are fine w/ pitted smooth bore. (01-17321/JS). 2) GEORGIAN ERA MILITARY STYLE PISTOL. Cal. 56. NSN. 19 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 12" rnd. CONDITION: appears to be a reconversion w/ several crack repairs to stock & several insets forward of lock on right side. "TOWER" marking on tail of lock is light & appears enhanced. There is one remnant of a British proof in stock behind sideplate, no other markings noted. There is a filled hole in sideplate that once held belt hook.
