2 US CONTRACT MUSKETS CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION.

1) 1831 DATED 1816 PERCUSSION CONVERSION MUSKET. Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 42", has "NJ" stamp at rear & is fitted w/ 1863 rifle sight. Lockplate w/ 1861 style percussion hammer stamped "MIDDN?" "CONN" "?831". Iron mounted walnut stock attaches to bbl. by 3 spring retained bands & is carved "QF" on left side behind sideplate. CONDITION: metal deeply pitted brown patina, cock replaced. Wood w/ marks & repairs. (01-19757/MGM).
2) US 1816 MUSKET BY HARPERS FERRY. Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 42", unmarked ("1836" on tang) & converted w/ drum & nipple. Lockplate w/ sm. eagle over "US" in front of hammer, marked "HARPERS" " FERRY" "1836" on tail. Walnut stock w/ iron fittings attaches to bbl. by 3 spring retained bands & is unmarked except for owner's stamp on toeline. CONDITION: metal parts have pitted dark brown patina.
