1) TYPE 38 KOISHIKAWA ARSENAL CARBINE W/ MATCHING NUMBERS & INTACT CREST. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S#. 1114800. Bbl. 19 1/2". All visible numbers match. Receiver marked on top w/ Imperial Chrysanthemum & 38 type characters. Oval knob bolt handle. Sm. tang. Checkered safety knob. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod is present. Side & bottom swivels w/ original brown leather sling. Hardwood stock & hand guard. Buttstock has 1 piece construction. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked brass muzzle guard. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, scratches & handling marks & added finish. Metal has traces of blue turning gray w/ wear & areas of light oxidation throughout. Lightly worn bore turning dark in the grooves. (22-723/RW).
2) CARCANO TYPE I. Cal. 6.5 Japanese. S# E4844. Bbl. 31". Graduated leaf military rear sight. Carcano action w/ an Arisaka type box mag. Full length stock w/ grasping grooves & handguard having bayonet lug & cleaning rod. Buttstock has separate lower portion in Arisaka style. Leather sling on original swivels. Production began at the end of 1938 & was completed in mid-1939. Approx. 30,000 mfg. by SFARE in Gardone. Another 30,000 by Civil mfgs. CONDITION: 90% lightly faded blue. Stock shows scattered scratches & marks. Bore has slightly dark appearance w/ worn rifling. (22-724/DS). CURIO. $600-900.
