Dallas Ecological Foundation (DEF) is an independent, qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 1981, which relies solely on like-minded individuals and organizations to further its mission to teach outdoor education and to promote and fund conservation of wildlife worldwide.
The goal of the Outdoor Adventures (OA) education curriculum is to provide and expose students and their parents to a wide range of outdoor activities including: Archery, Angling, Hunter Education, Outdoor Cooking, First Aid / CPR, Boater Education, and much more!
The OA program is currently offered in more than 250 schools across 12 states, reaching more than 25,000 students per year!
Over the next three years, DEF expects OA to be in 500 schools across the nation, reaching over 50,000 students annually!
Our primary sources of income to fund the OA program come from grants, generous annual donations through our Guardians of the Legacy program, as well as Major Gift endowments through our Wildlife Heritage Society.
On Saturday, April 9, 2016, we are hosting our inaugural "Rendezvous of the Guardians" banquet and auction and we encourage you to review the packages being offered and bid with your hearts on premier hunting and fishing packages, fine art by renowned artists, and custom-made firearms by industry leading gun manufacturers, knowing that you will be contributing to a worthy cause and helping ensure that future generations of hunters, anglers and conservationists are provided an opportunity to carry on the legacy of life in the great outdoors!
