NEVADA’S PRONGHORN ANTELOPE HERITAGE TAG
Dates: August 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025.
Species: Pronghorn Antelope
Weapon: Any legal weapon may be used throughout the season.
Open Units: Any hunt unit assigned a pronghorn antelope with horns longer than ears season
This is a unique opportunity at a record book pronghorn antelope. Long season dates to hunt the entire state in search for the trophy of your dreams. Nevada’s antelope population was estimated at approximately 32,500 animals in 2024 and population surveys indicate a growing herd. Harvest data show approximately 20% of bucks harvested have horn lengths in excess of 15 inches. In the past several years, Nevada has received above average precipitation across much of the state and especially in some prime antelope habitat. Horn growth is expected to improve dramatically in the next 1-2 years. Several hunt units in Elko County including Unit Group 076,077 079, 081, 091 have been especially productive for trophy quality during the 2024 season. Unit 251 continues to produce record book quality as well. Hunting the high desert of the Great Basin for “speed goats” is an addicting adventure you won’t forget. Be ready to have fun!
