19th century one of a kind magazine fed experimental American multi shot revolving rifle with a heavy 26 ¾” octagon barrel rifled. Round cylinder is six shot revolver. Hammer with checkered spur is enclosed in the action. The fore end is of American walnut. The action is good with both half and full cock functioning. Steel trigger guard. Walnut buttstock with brass Civil War carbine style butt plate. The stock has a unique 16 ½”hinged brass plate that opens revealing a chamber with a mechanism for feeding multiple rounds of an unknown cartridge. The condition is good overall. The blade front sight and partridge rear sight is missing.Measures 45” overall and over 7 pounds. This rifle is a true museum piece and would be a highlight in any collection of American revolving rifles or oddities. (Antique) Est.: $3000-$4000 Note: Subsequent research has surfaced that identifies this prototype as a Brady’s & Noble’s Patent self-loading gun. Also another example was sold at Lot 3072 on Dec. 4th 2009 at R.I.A. auction for $5750. This rifle was described as also “The only one known” but now there are 2 known though they are slightly different.
