Winchester 3rd Model 1873 lever action saddle ring carbine, .44 WCF caliber, Serial #139678A. The carbine is in fair overall condition with a 20” round barrel and full-length magazine. The metal surfaceshave gone to brown patina with light to moderate surface rust and erosion. The rear sight is a period replacement and the saddle ring and dust cover are both retained. The fore end has two 2” lateral cracks and thebutt stock is a poorly fitted replacement with a smooth steel crescent butt plate. The bore is poor, the action functions and the markings are legible.
