Klewang style cutlass similar to Koninklijke Marechaussee [Royal Police or Guard] Saber, except this is a shorter blade. Possibly Model 1913. Single fullered slightly curved blade with a clipped-tip. Germanmanufacturer's mark of an "H" over an "S" with a downward pointing vertical sword is the mark of "EF Horster & Co., Solingen". Twisted wire wrap sharkskin grip with a flat 3-branch half-basket steel guard. Blade is24-3/8" long and 29-3/4" overall. Leather scabbard has a steel throat with frog button and suspension ring, and a steel chape. Est.: $150-$300
