Germanic flintlock horseman’s pistol circa Mid-18th century showing period of use restocking possibly in American colonial era. Measures 19 ½” overall with a 12 5/8” barrel of .60-.62 caliber smoothbore. All originalflintlock parts. Dark patina that is uncleaned on the barrel, hammer, and frizzen. The brass has been lightly cleaned when restocked. The side plate was eliminated which we do not believe would have occurredin Europe and the walnut straight stock is simple and very possibly American wood. The condition is good overall with minor chips and small losses to the wood. This type flintlock was often used in the AmericanRevolution and it would be interesting to have the wood tested by U.S. Forest Service to determined country of origin. (Antique) Est.: $800-$1600
