American Flintlock "Rural" type Kentucky pistol circa early 1800s. Lock marked "J. J. Henry Philadelphia". Measures approximately 15" overall with a 3/8" smoothbore barrel of approximately .52-54 caliber. Very light andcrude construction with sheet brass guard and as simply and cheaply hand produced as possible. The lock and barrel are in the black and uncleaned. Original flintlock with correct small parts. The stock shows most ofits reddish varnish with many small dings, mars, scratches and a small loss around the rear of the lock. The barrel is crudely attached to the tang with German silver "Joint". This pistol weighs about half thenormal weight and was a cheap "Blue light Special" probably made for pioneers headed west at a low price or a trade piece. 100% genuine to the 19th Century.
