20TH CENTURY 7TH CAVALRY BANNER.

This beautifully executed banner measures 27 3/4" x 40 1/2" & is suspended from a turned wooden 31" pole. The cloth banner is painted blue on the reverse & black on the front. The front reads, “7TH CAVALRY” in 4" gold letters above crossed, gold painted sabers. Below the sabers is a red, white & blue Federal shield w/ “U.S.” on the top & “7TH” in the center of the shield. Below the shield reads, “RIDE TO GLORY” in 2" gold letters. The base has a 3" border of yellow fringe. The reverse has a sm. yellow signature that reads, “S.H.S. ‘10”. This banner likely dates to the 20th century & was probably made for a reunion or as the centerpiece for a cavalry collection. This banner displays very well & is quite visually impactful. CONDITION: painted surfaces show minor abrasions & scattered tiny losses of paint. (02-15644/BF). $400-600.
