The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, semi-pistol grip, smooth forend, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate shows moderate wear and patina. The furniture shows pressure dings, scratches, and old blemishes that have since been finished over. There are several cracks in the wood and a chip at the top of the butt. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The furniture rates in good condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: originalbore condition: the bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is faint erosion towards the muzzle end of the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 50% of its original metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, patina, scuffs, and scratches. The screw heads range from unmarred to lightly tooled and retain turnable slots. The markings are fairly clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in good condition. mechanics: the action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. The refinished furniture rates in good condition with visible handling marks. Overall, this rifle rates in good condition and stands as an early 1934 winchester model 63 from only the second year of production.
