1) 16", “IOSEPH PLUMBn’S HORN MADE AT WEST / POINT August 3 AD 1778”, several mottos carved along w/ ships, horse, marching troops, animals & more. CONDITION: good overall.
2) 17" “IOHN HATCH HIS HORN MADE AT CROWN / POINT JULY Ye 4th 1766” “TAKE NOT THIS / HORN FOR FEAR OF SHAME FOR ON IT / STANDS THE OWNERS NAME”, also carved are couple ships, forts & building. CONDITION: very good overall, several lg. insect holes and erosion at spout.
3) 12", “MELATIAH LOTHROP / HIS HORN / 13TH REGt. N.Y. MILITIA”, carved w/ British seal & map of the Hudson River & tributaries w/ named forts & towns. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of insurance appraisal document, listing these horns as insured in 1962. CONDITION: good overall.(02-15499-4/JS). $700-900.
