Join Host Daniel Holder and the rest of the Hunt Fish Eat Podcast crew as they chase Pheasants on the Prairies of South Dakota. You will be included as a guest on nightly podcast episodes and get to hunt with Daniel Holder. Enjoy meals prepared daily by Chef Brandon Hayden featuring wild game. Included in the trip is three days of hunting, 4 nights of lodging and food. The hunter is responsible for the cost of transportation to Hecla, SD and their hunting license cost. A shuttle can be provided from the Aberdeen Airport at no cost.

It is a pretty laid back trip and is really about getting some time in the field while enjoying good times with friends and great food! South Dakota is THE mecca of pheasant hunting for a reason, there are high bird numbers and great habitat. Hecla Dakota Hunting Farms is an awesome piece of property that is farmed with pheasant hunting in mind. There are over 20,000 acres of private ground we have access to with the James River running through the middle of it! There are no guarantees with wild animals, but every year, we have limited out without an issue. There is a great kennel of dogs on hand that we use, but if you have a dog, you are welcome to bring it along! This hunt is a great opportunity to unplug and shoot some birds. We don’t limit out in an hour, but we usually have our limit shot by midday. We then head back to the lodge to unwind and get ready for dinner.
DATES; November 27th-Arrive in Hecla November 28th- Hunt Day 1 November 29th- Hunt Day 2 November 30th -Hunt Day 3 December 1st- Travel home This Hunt includes: - Lodging for 4 nights - Transportation to and from the airport (If you choose to fly in) - 3 days of guided hunting - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner each day. Each Dinner will be a wild-game-themed meal cooked at the lodge. Examples include elk steaks, pheasant, etc. - One dinner at THE World Famous Angry Beaver Lodge - Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (You are welcome to bring your own adult beverages, but we ask that you don’t drink before or while handling firearms) - Bedding at the lodge You will need to bring: - Boots (Waterproof): Muck style boots are a great idea as there may be water and often snow. There will be boot dryers available at the lodge. - Gun: I will have some guns on hand, and anyone is welcome to borrow them. If you let me know in advance, I can make sure to have one for you. - Ammo: I can provide ammo, if needed, for an extra cost. Let me know and we can work out the details. - Hunting license for South Dakota: You can get this ahead of time online. If you drive up, you can also stop in Sioux Falls, SD at the Scheels and pick one up! - Hunting Clothes: I suggest layers for insulation. We will be walking a lot, so you need to slightly cold at the start of the hunt to avoid sweating too much after we begin. - Hunter Orange Vest & Hat. - Game/Upland Vest - Personal Snacks - Toiletries - Personal Items - A cooler to take the birds home. If you fly in, let me know in advance, and we can work out a plan to get your birds home. Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. is the NWTF’s 10-year initiative to Conserve or enhance 4 million acres of critical wildlife habitat, Recruit 1.5 million hunters, Open access to 500,000 additional acres for hunting.
Any bid made at a NWTF auction, whether in person at a live auction, by phone, or online, constitutes an unconditional offer to buy the item in question at the price bid. Unless a higher and subsequent bid is made, your bid creates a binding contract of purchase, obligates you to sign the bid ticket or, in the case of a phone or online bid, authorizes the person who took the bid to sign on your behalf AND requires that the bid amount be paid prior to the close of the auction. In the event that the successful bid was made by phone or online, the bid price must be received before the close of the sixth business day after the close of the auction. Payments can be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. If the winner of an auction refuses to pay the winning bid price plus any premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid. If the next highest bidder declines the item or if the second highest bidder is unknown, the Chapter President shall dispose of the item at his/her discretion.
ONLINE BIDDING/PERMIT BUYERS: A 5% buyer’s premium with a $250 cap will be added to the final bid price of all lots (unless prohibited by statute). Proceeds will be dedicated to NWTF Conservation initiatives. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid.
You will also be asked to provide the following information: Full Name, Email address, Address, Phone number, Credit card number, on which an AVS is completed (Address Verification System) All purchases over the amount of $50,000 will require a call back from NWTF Auction Team for verification.
PAYING WITH CREDIT CARDS: PAYING BY CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL 3% ADMINISTRATION FEE If item does not get to reserve then the highest bidder will be offered the option to buy it at reserve price.
FIREARMS: Before taking possession of your purchased firearm, the gun must be registered in compliance with all federal, state, and local firearms laws. To meet this compliance, NWTF will ship the firearm, at the expense of the purchaser, from our FFL, Edgefield, SC 29824 to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder of your choice after convention if the buyer is not present at the convention. Sports Lure will be transferring firearms during and immediately after the banquet for those who are present.
NWTF AUCTION ITEM POLICY:
All goods in the live auctions and fund-raising areas have been acquired or obtained from third parties. The purchaser acknowledges that the goods have not been inspected by NWTF, and is advised, in the case of firearms, knives, bullets, or other weapons to obtain a competent inspection and test of the goods before use. The goods sold in the live auctions are sold ‘’AS IS” with all faults and defects, and without any express or implied warranty on the part of NWTF. NWTF provides no warranties of fitness and expressly disclaims the same. NWTF does not accept any liability or responsibility for any product, design, or use. Any written warranties on the goods delivered to the high bidder are those solely of the manufactures, and/or their agents, and shall be the sole liability and responsibility of the manufacturer.
All services, hunts, or otherwise, in the live auctions and fund-raising areas have been acquired for and are to be furnished by third parties and contain the same reservation set forth under “goods” above. No services in the live auction are to be or will be performed by NWTF. NWTF shall bear no responsibilities for the delivery or quality of any of the services, or for any loss or damages arising from or related to or connected with the performance or non-performance of such services. The purchaser also acknowledges that in the event that services are purchased, NWTF cannot be responsible for or liable for any political unrest or instability that may occur outside the United States. NWTF cannot be accountable for any injuries or damages that may arise there from. NWTF reserves the right to add items to the auctions as additional donations become available. Only NWTF exhibitors may solicit and/ or market to permit buyers.
AUCTION ITEM SCHEDULE/ The online auction will end at approximately 1800 hours MTN time on Saturday, Feb 20, 2021. The online auction will be posted approximately two weeks prior to that ending date.
PAYMENT/PICK-UP
Buyers who purchase items through the Online Hunting Auctions website will immediately be charged for their items on their registered credit cards. Buyers may contact Bruce Boroski at (970) 593-8201 and make alternate arrangements for payment within 10 days prior to the online auction and within 6 days after the online auction concludes. Once this payment is received, the original credit card payment will be voided.
Any items left in the inventory, either unpaid or uncollected, will be taken back to NWTF Headquarters and shipped at the purchaser’s expense. You can contact the Bruce Boroski at (970) 593-8201 to make shipping arrangements
