1) KOUMIYYA. A classic Moroccan koumiyya measuring approx. 16” overall with a plain curved blade. The throat/ferrule and the pommel are decorated brass. The grip is plain dark wood. The well-executed sheath has concentrated foliate & geometric designs. There is a braided cord attached to one of the suspension rings of the scabbard. CONDITION: knife generally shows light to moderate wear overall. 2) KUKRI. An interesting Nepalese kukri with a typical curved blade. The entire blade is engraved with 2 women holding plants in a foliate background with tigers & elephants. The grip is iron with gold damascene-like decoration. No sheath. CONDITION: blade has been coated in lacquer that has darkened & yellowed, but the actual condition of the blade appears quite good. The hilt shows wear but remains solid. 3) WESTERN PACIFIC KNIFE. This knife measures 14 5/8” overall and appears to be from a Pacific Island, such as Indonesia. It has a plain blade that swells towards the tip. The hilt has a carved bone guard with brass highlights and the grip is a dark wood with bands of brass. Leather sheath with incised motifs. The tip is reinforced and has a carved bone fishtail at the base. CONDITION: blade has a gray mottled finish. The hilt & scabbard show light wear. (02-19547/BF). $200-300.
