3 GERMAN SWORDS.

1) DRAGOON: Overall length: 39 5/8”. Blade length: 32”. A single fuller blade etched over 1/3 of its length with foliate motifs and 2 large blued panels. The 1/8” panel on one side depicts a unit of dragoons at the charge. The other 4 1/2" panel reads “Magd. Drag. Rgt. No 6”. Steel hilt with a folding semi basket guard featuring a Germanic eagle. Plain pommel. Spirally ribbed composite grip. Plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish and engraved panels remain exceptionally sharp. Hilt and grip show light wear. Scabbard shows very minor spots of oxidation.
2) ARTILLERY. Overall length: 40”. Blade length: 33”. A clipped point blade with a single wide fuller. Ricasso is stamped “ALEX COPPEL SOLINGEN”. Gilded brass hilt with square languets. The front languet features crossed cannons. The knuckle bow and backstrap are embellished with foliate and classical motifs. The pommel is the shape of a lion’s head. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a lightly mottled gray patina and has been sharpened. Hilt shows traces of original gilded finish with the balance having a deep mustard patina. Grip is complete and shows light to moderate wear. Scabbard has an oxidized finish with 2 notable dents near the drag.
3) ARTILLERY. Overall length: 36”. Blade length: 29 3/4". Plain blade has a single wide fuller with inspector’s marks on the spine. Iron hilt regimentally marked on the crossguard. Reverse P guard with ears on the backstrap. Ribbed composite grip iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Hilt and scabbard have a dark oxidized patina. Grip is undamaged. Scabbard has a few minor shallow dents. (02-16433-3/BF). $700-1000.
