1) TYPE 99 JAPANESE MILITARY BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 41099. Bbl. 25 1/2". Straight bolt handle w/ oval knob. Notched checkered safety knob. Receiver marked on left rail w/ Nagoya Arsenal marking. Receiver ring marked on top w/ Type 99 characters. Mum has been ground. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m w/ anti-aircraft wings. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Cleaning rod is not present. S# matches on receiver & bayonet lug. Bolt numbered at rear of bolt handle root w/ “4”. 2 Screw upper band. Lower band has provision for monopod. Hardwood stock set w/ 2 piece buttstock construction & sm. recoil bolt, 2 screw butt swivel, cup type buttplate. CONDITION: stock set has been slightly refinished w/ loss of wood in inletted areas w/ light wear, scattered scratches & handling marks. Metal retains 75% original blue finish w/ wear, scratches, sm. areas of patina, oxidation & light pitting. Very good, shiny bore. (20-1981/RW). 2. JAPANESE TYPE 38 BOLT ACTION TRAINING RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Blank. NSN. Bbl. 31 1/4" smooth bore. Receiver marked only w/ the interlocking circles of Nippon Special Steel Corp. Straight bolt handle w/ oval knob. Checkered notched safety knob. Unmarked dust cover is present. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m. Inverted V front sight. Stacking rod, which resembles cleaning rod is present. 2 Screw upper band w/ distinctive squared profile to match forend tip. Solid lower band, retained by spring. Milled trigger guard w/ hinged floorplate. Mag. spring & follower is not present. Receiver & trigger guard have solid tangs. Bottom sling swivels. Hardwood stock w/ 2 piece buttstock construction & flat type steel buttplate. Buttstock marked on left side w/ indistinct, boxed markings w/ Japanese characters. Right side of buttstock has partial painted Japanese characters & numeral “4”. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, dents, staining & scratches throughout. 2 Sm. holes on top left of handguard w/ chipping. Notable lg. scratches on right side of buttstock. Metal has traces of blue turning patina w/ wear, oxidation & fine pitting. Dark oxidized bore. (20-1982/RW). 3. JAPANESE CHILDS TRAINING BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Blank. S# 53325. Bbl. 27 1/2". Rifle was mfg. for training children in the use of military weapons, it is approx. 7/8 of the size of a standard Type 38 rifle. Bbl. shows faint traces of rifling. Receiver is unmarked except for S#. Receiver is made w/ clip guide & spring loaded mag. follower. Straight bolt handle w/ oval shaped knob. Grooved safety knob w/ tang. Bolt stock is spring loaded pin. Ladder rear sight w/ graduation to 1400m. Inverted V front sight has stacking rod at forward end, which resembles cleaning rod. Single screw upper band. Lower band is retained by spring. Provision for narrow, bottom sling. Trigger guard numbered on bottom “47”. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has 1 piece construction. Marked on right side w/ 6 Japanese characters, internet research indicates possible school markings. Grasping grooves & flat steel buttplate retained by 2 screws. CONDITION: stock set has light wear, staining & handling marks. Metal is overall gray & patina w/ wear, oxidation & scattered fine pitting. Bore is turning dark. (20-1983/RW). ALL CURIO. $1,200-1,600.
