1) WWII ERA INTERNATIONAL SIGNAL FLARE CO. 37MM SINGLE SHOT FLARE GUN. Cal. 37mm. S# 33323. Bbl. 8 1/8" smooth bore. WWII era flare gun sometimes referred to as model 52 due to being part of the international signal flare company's model 52 survival kit. single action break open design. Grips are marked on both sides "INTERNATIONAL FLARE SIGNAL CO TIPPECANOE CITY OHIO". Right side of bbl. marked w/ separate "PT" "9-26" date. Brass frame & grip. Bbl. has brass & steel construction. CONDITION: appears to function correctly. Brass parts turning patina w/ light wear & scattered dents & handling marks. Steel bbl. has 50% black finish w/ light oxidation & scattered very fine pitting. Bore shows machine marks, light pitting & lightly oxidized appearance. PROVENANCE: Collection of Brian C. Pinkerton. This lot consists of 3 US M1917 Brodie style helmets w/ field green surfaces, black leather liners & brown chinstraps. / 1 US M1 WWII fixed bail front seam helmet w/ dark green surface. Liner is original & chinstrap is complete. / 1 US M1 post WWII swivel bail rear seam helmet w/ green surface. Liner is original. Canvas chinstrap is complete. / 1 Marine Corps pith helmet w/ globe & anchor device on the front. Interior is stamped in part, “HELMET, SUN RIGID, FIBRE”. / This lot further includes a wooden slide top box that houses 5 carved jade sake cups likely from the early 20th century. CONDITION: helmets generally show light wear. Pith helmet shows no wear. Sake cups are undamaged w/ only minor scuffing to the wooden box. PROVENANCE: Collection of Brian C. Pinkerton.
