3 PAIR OF CAVALRY STYLE BOOTS FROM THE SECOND HALF

OF THE 19th CENTURY. 1) A pair of high leather boots approximately size 10 1/2" with an 18” rise in the front and 16” rise in the rear. Top of boot has 2 sewn-in boot pull straps. Soles show a slight difference between right & left. The sole is attached with numerous small wooden pegs and the heel is attached with a plethora of iron nails. CONDITION: boots show moderate to heavy overall wear. Right sole actually shows more wear than the left sole. Leather is complete but dry and stiff.
2) A pair of black officers’ boots approximately size 12 with a 14” rise. Top of the boot has 2 sewn-in boot pulls. The tops of the boots have a 4” brown facing on the front and a 1” brown facing at the rear. Soles show a subtle difference between left & right. Boots have been resoled at least once utilizing wooden pegs. The heel is attached with iron nails. CONDITION: boots show moderate to heavy wear with crazing to the front of the boots. Boots are somewhat stiff but reasonably pliable.
3) A pair of high leather boots approximately size 11 1/2" with a 19” rise in the front and 15 1/2” rise in the rear. Top of boot has 2 sewn-in boot pull straps. Soles show a notable difference between right & left. The sole has been repaired and is attached with a combination of pegs & sewing. The heels are attached with iron nails and have iron horseshoe shaped cleats nailed on. CONDITION: boots are heavily worn and show separations between the sole and the upper. (02-17468/BF). $500-800.
