3 PIECES OF WWII GERMAN NSKK HEADGEAR.

1) KEPI. A fine example of an early NSKK kepi or "coffee can" hat. The body is a medium brown wool with a black band at the top. A flat silver bullion NSKK eagle is sewn to the front of the black band. There is a single smooth finish button below joining the flaps in the front of the kepi. Brown leather chinstrap with 2 buckles and connecting rectangular O ring. Chinstrap is connected with 2 plain metal buttons with black finish. Leather sweatband. Liner is marked, "PREISGEKRONTE Pekuro Mutze STIRNDRUCKFREI Deutsches Reichs-Patent" along with 2 simulated award medals dated 1890 and 1926. CONDITION: kepi shows light overall wear. Chinstrap is a bit flexed and shows minor loss of finish. Sweatband has a couple of very minor tears.
2) SIDE CAP. A nice example of a black NSKK side cap for a senior enlisted man or junior officer. Cap is entirely made of black wool with a triangular NSKK eagle on a yellow field sewn to the left front of the hat. The front has 2 small NSKK buttons attached. On the left side are 2 parallel diagonal bullion stripes. The interior appears to be black cotton with a stained cloth RZM tag that in part reads, "Feldmutze RZM Reichszeugmeisterei der NSDAP". Cap is numbered "198432" on the tag and is stamped size "57". The owner's initials "R T" are also written on the tag. CONDITION: hat generally shows light wear. The RZM tag is partially illegible due to staining.
3) CRASH HELMET. A 2nd Model NSKK black leather crash helmet with raised medial ridge and raised border. A gray metal and black NSKK eagle is mounted to the front of the cap. Ear flaps and neck flap are present. Liner is stamped with a partially legible Erel maker's mark. CONDITION: outside of the helmet is in near relic condition and is quite dirty. There are significant losses to the raised border around the circumference of the helmet. The eagle is heavily oxidized. However, the interior of the helmet is actually quite nice and shows light to moderate wear. (02-17094/BF). $900-1,300.
