1) CONFEDERATE. A reproduction Confederate cavalry saber. Overall length: 40". Blade length: 34 1/4". Plain blade with a single wide unstopped fuller Brass hilt marked on the underside of the guard, "XXXVI". 2 Branch guard joins the knuckle bow at about the midpoint. Stepped pommel. Wire wrapped leather or leather like grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark patina. Hilt has an overall dark tarnish. Grip shows light wear.
2) CAVALRY SABER. An import M1840 cavalry saber. Overall length: 42". Blade length: 36". Plain blade with a single wide fuller. Sword is marked at the hilt, "C & J". The C & J stands for Clemen & Jung from Prussia. Brass hilt. 2 Branch guard joins the knuckle bow at about the midpoint. Classic M1840 pommel. Wood grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark oxidized finish throughout. Hilt is a bit loose and somewhat misshaped. There is no cord wrap, leather or wire wrap on the grip.
3) RUSSIAN M1881. A Russian style M1881 cavalry saber with iron scabbard. Overall length: 38 1/2". Blade length: 31 1/2". A single side fullered blade marked at the ricasso, "191A9". Brass hilt with turned down ring quillon. Plain knuckle bow and pommel cap stamped, "191A9". Diagonally reeded wood grip. Iron scabbard painted black. CONDITION: sword has an overall dark patina with ample pitting. Hilt has a mottled patina. Grip shows moderate wear. Scabbard has an oxidized finish with a severe dent at about the midpoint.
