1) EARLY KNIFE. Overall length: 14 1/2". Blade length: 9 1/2". A lg. early belt or butcher knife w/ a plain unmarked blade. Rudimentary brass guard & brass pommel w/ 2 piece bone grips featuring 2 lg. brass rivets on each side. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark, nearly black patina. Brass has a rich mustard patina. Bone grips have a wonderful old patina w/ a few age cracks. (02-15065/BF). 2) US SABER BAYONET. Overall length: 25 1/2". Blade length: 20". This bayonet is similar to the post Civil War Winchester bayonets but decidedly different. Hardin lists it as unknown in his landmark work, “The American Bayonet”. Unmarked, single fullered blade. Solid brass hilt w/ fish scale grip. A lg. “6” is stamped on the crossguard. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. The entire hilt has a rich, well aged dark patina as do the scabbard mounts. Leather body is intact but has serious flexing & flaking. Frog stud is missing. (02-15085/BF). 3) US M1904 HOSPITAL CORPS KNIFE. Overall length: 17 3/4". Blade length: 11 7/8". Plain blade is stamped at the ricasso “SA/(flaming bomb)/1912” on 1 side & “US/28427” on the other. Brass S shaped crossguard & sm. pommel cap. 1 Piece shaped wooden grip w/ 2 brass rivets on either side. Brass mounted leather scabbard w/ swivel iron belt loop marked on reverse, “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1911.H.E.K.”. CONDITION: blade has notable oxidation particularly near the tip. Hilt shows light wear. Scabbard shows moderate wear w/ some loss of finish. (02-15098/BF). $600-900.
