3 WWI AXIS HELMETS.

1) AUSTRIAN. A good example of an M1916 Austrian helmet. Helmet has a dark gray green painted finish with a post WWI red cloth band around the body of the helmet secured with 3 small elastic bands with aluminum clips at the ends. 8 Tongue dark brown leather liner w/ dark brown leather chinstrap. CONDITION: helmet retains much of the original finish & shows 3 tiny dents in the top. Liner & chinstrap show moderate wear but are complete.
2) GERMAN. A fine example of an M1816/17 German helmet. Helmet has a dark brown/green painted finish. 3 Pad brown leather liner with black leather chinstrap. 1 Pad has the following written upon it, "Private S.N. Straw. Battery F 101 U.S.F.A.". CONDITION: helmet is in fine condition & shows light wear throughout.
3) AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN. A very rare M1917 Austrian Berndorfer steel trench helmet. This helmet was made by Krupp in lower Austria until November of 1917. One of the rarest of the WWI trench helmets. Helmet has a dark brownish green painted finish with a circular vent at the crown. 3 Pad leather liner with cotton canvas & leather chinstrap. CONDITION: this scarce helmet is in fine condition overall showing only light wear. (02-16339/BF). $1,600-2,200.
