1) This helmet has tan, brown & green camouflage paint with wide black painted separation lines. Helmet has original leather chin strap with 3 pad dark brown leather liner. Interior crown of helmet is stamped “R848”. Interior left of the helmet is stamped “BF62”. CONDITION: camouflage finish is about 80%. Liner & chin strap are well worn, but complete. 2) This helmet has mustard, brown & green camouflage paint with narrow black separation lines. Helmet has original leather chin strap with 3 pad dark brown liner. Interior left of the helmet appears to be stamped “TJ66”. CONDITION: camouflage finish is about 95%. Chin strap & liner show significant wear, but are complete. 3) This helmet has mustard, orange, red, dark red, & black camouflage paint with no separation lines. The front of the helmet has a folky profile portrait of a German soldier in a spike helmet with a rather large proboscis. Below the portrait is a large yellow band with the words “Gott Mit Uns!”. The crown of the helmet has a black Maltese cross. This is an exceptionally well decorated camouflage helmet with a folky comical twist, a true centerpiece for any collection. Helmet does not have a chin strap. There is a partial white 3 pad liner. The inside crown of the helmet is stamped “R1409”. The inside left of the helmet is stamped “D.F.64.”. CONDITION: painted finish is approx. 80% intact with the bulk of the wear being at the crown. The front portrait & ribbon are virtually complete. The liner is substantially intact, but shows wear & staining. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18706-1/BF). $1,500-2,500.
