3 WWII AUSTRALIAN MADE FIGHTING KNIVES/MACHETES.
1) SHOP MADE FIGHTING KNIFE. Overall length: 13 7/8”. Blade length: 9 1/4". Straight blade has a 2 1/2" false edge at the point. Blade is marked below the spine, “SURGICAL SUPPLIES BRISBANE”. Brass crossguard. 1 Piece aluminum grip w/ 3 rivets on each side. Brown leather scabbard w/ snap marked, “RAUFASTENES CO. PROV. RI.”. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish w/ evidence of sharpening. Hilt & guard show light wear. Sheath shows moderate wear. Retention strap is broken. 2) MACHETE. Overall length: 13”. Blade length: 8 1/2". A seldom seen, Australian made survival machete. Flat cutting edge w/ chiseled point & sm. hook at the end. Blade is stamped, “EAST BROS SYDNEY”. 2 Piece aluminum grips w/ 3 brass rivets on each side. Leather sheath stamped, “GOLDSEAL 1944 SYDNEY”. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish w/ hammering marks on the spine. Grip shows light wear. Sheath shows light to moderate wear. 3) MACHETE. Overall length: 13”. Blade length: 8 1/2". A seldom seen, Australian made survival machete. Flat cutting edge w/ chiseled point & sm. hook at the end. Blade is unmarked. 2 Piece aluminum grips w/ 2 brass rivets on each side. The top of the grip is stamped, “U S A A F”. Leather sheath stamped, “GOLDSEAL 1944 SYDNEY”. There is also a British broad arrow mark on the front of the scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish w/ hammering marks on the spine. Grip shows light to moderate wear. Sheath shows moderate wear & both retention straps are broken.
