4 EARLY STYLE SWORDS.

1) RAPIER. Overall length: 40". Blade length: 31". This visually attractive sword likely dates from the Victorian period or early 20th Century. It has a polished steel blade w/ a heavily silvered hilt & black leather grip. Scabbard is black leather w/ silver plated mounts. CONDITION: blade has a beautiful polish. Silver shows dark tarnish throughout. Grip is undamaged. Scabbard tip is missing much of the silver plate. (02-16103/BF).
2) RAPIER. Overall length: 35". Blade length: 29". This sword appears to be a Victorian copy. Blade has a dbl. fuller throughout 15" of its length. The entire hilt is brass & features a cup guard, turned brass grip & long turned down quillon. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows a dark oxidized patina. Cup guard is a bit loose. Brass has a pleasing mellow mustard patina. (02-16115/BF).
3) BROAD SWORD. Overall length: 44". Blade length: 35 1/2". Broad sword is a Victorian or early 20th Century copy. Blade has a helmeted knight’s head near the crossguard & the number "23". Heavy turned down crossguard w/ lg. disk pommel. Wire wrapped wooden grip. Brass mounted, brown leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows uniform oxidation & some evidence of sharpening. Hilt is a bit loose & wire is completely dislodged from the grip but present. Scabbard shows light to moderate wear & is missing the tip. (02-16125/BF).
4) RAPIER. Overall length: 44". Blade length: 36 1/2". This well made weapon appears to be a Victorian impression of an earlier style. Single fullered blade w/ a 2 lobed, Bilbo style hilt. The guard & knuckle bow are done in a swept hilt fashion. Pommel is a flattened sphere. Grip is wrapped in copper wire in a decorative manner. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has scattered oxidation throughout. Iron guard & hilt have a dark patina. Grip has an "old penny" patina. (02-16143/BF). $700-1,200.
