4 GERMAN SWORDS & A VETERAN’S CANE.

1) SWORD. Overall length: 38 1/4". Blade length: 31 3/4". A WWII German Army sword w/ a plain, single fullered blade marked at the ricasso, “(puma) PUMA SOLINGEN” on 1 side & “NO 3” on the other side. Gilded brass hilt w/ WWII eagle on crossguard. Oak leaf embellished backstrap & knuckle bow. Wire wrapped black composite grip. Green leather knot w/ red & white acorn. Black enameled scabbard w/ leather hanger. CONDITION: blade shows areas of original factory polish. Hilt retains most of its original gilding. Scabbard finish is 95%.
2) SWORD. Overall length: 40 1/4". Blade length: 34 1/2". A WWI era German sword w/ a plain single fullered blade marked at the ricasso, “ROBERT KLASS (2 storks) SOLINGEN”. Plated hilt w/ bird’s head pommel. Wire wrapped black composite grip. Gray leather sword knot w/ green & silver bullion acorn. Black enamel scabbard w/ leather hanger. CONDITION: blade shows areas of original factory polish. Hilt retains all of its original plating. Knot has a break. Scabbard retains 75% original finish.
3) SWORD. Overall length: 37 1/2". Blade length: 31 1/2". A WWI era German cavalry officer’s sword w/ a plain, single fullered blade marked under the ricasso. Lion head pommel w/ red eyes. Embellished backstrap & knuckle bow w/ crossed sabers on the languet. Wire wrapped, black composite grip. Veteran’s sword knot attached. Black lacquered scabbard w/ black hanger. CONDITION: blade has a somewhat mottled finish. Hilt has scattered oxidation. Scabbard retains 70% original finish w/ 1 notable dent.
4) SWORD. Overall length: 40 1/2". Blade length: 33 1/2". A WWII era Italian naval officer’s sword. Blade is etched over 1/3 of its length w/ various naval & foliate motifs. Gilded brass hilt w/ lion’s head pommel, eagle head quillon & fish scale decorated guard. Wire wrapped, white painted grip. Post war yellow sword knot attached. Black leather scabbard w/ gilded brass mounts. CONDITION: blade has a light gray finish. Hilt retains most of its original gilded finish. Grip shows light wear. Scabbard has the tip detached but present.
5) CANE. Overall length: 36 3/4". Cane has black, red & white woven material around the body & has a red, white & black wrap w/ blue & white tassels likely for Bavaria. There is a metal tip cap & the bust of a German soldier forms the cane’s pommel. Around the base of the bust are written the words, “RESERVE HAT RUE”. CONDITION: cane shows light wear overall. (02-15610/BF). $800-1,200.
