1) Overall length: 13 5/8”. Blade length: 9”. A fine example of the V-44 survival knife by Collins & Co. The bowie style blade has 2 narrow fullers at the top of each side. Blade is marked at the ricasso, “COLLINS & CO.(arm & hammer) LEGITIMUS MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 18”. Brass crossguard. Black plastic 2 piece grip w/ 4 rivets on each side. Brown leather tooled sheath marked on the face, “COLLINS & CO (arm & hammer) LEGITIMUS”. Sheath is stamped “13”. CONDITION: blade has a smooth medium gray patina. Grip generally shows light overall wear. Sheath shows light to moderate wear. 2) Overall length: 14 1/2”. Blade length: 9 1/4”. A fine example of the V-44 survival knife by Collins & Co. The bowie style blade has 2 narrow fullers at the top of each side. Blade is marked horizontally near the ricasso, “WESTERN”. Steel crossguard. Black composite 2 piece grip w/ 3 rivets on each side. Dark brown leather sheath. CONDITION: blade shows very light use as does the grip. Sheath shows light wear but has a separation starting at the tip. 3) Overall length: 13 3/4”. Blade length: 9 1/8”. A fine example of the V-44 survival knife made in Australia. The bowie style blade has 2 narrow fullers at the top of each side. Blade is unmarked. Brass crossguard w/ 1 piece black composite grip having 3 rivets on each side. Dark brown leather sheath w/ brass closing snap marked, “AUSTRALIA”. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina. Crossguard is a bit bent. Grip shows light wear. Sheath shows light wear but has the tip is a bit flexed. 4) Overall length: 14 1/4”. Blade length: 9 1/2”. An interesting example of the V-44 Chindet survival knife likely made in India & copied directly from the US V-44. The bowie style blade has 2 narrow fullers at the top of each side. Blade is unmarked. Brass crossguard. 1 Piece wooden grip having 3 rivets on each side. No sheath. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina. Grip shows only light wear.
