Tahr hunting with New Zealand Safaris is conducted on wild, free range, private wilderness area land, where hunting does not require using helicopters. Tahr hunting is like many sheep hunts around the world in that there is a lot of glassing from distance to first locate and judge a mature bull. Judging bull Tahr is very exciting as they can appear from simply nowhere rolling their bodies like that of a grizzly bear showing his size and dominance to any challengers. Although not required, if preferred, and for an additional fee, helicopter access up onto the tops for day hunts can be arranged.

Other costs: The successful bidder must bring one full paying hunter that will also hunt at least 1 big game animal (Tahr or other choice).
