1) A 1/4 plate tintype photo of a standing Union Infantry Private wearing a 9-button frock coat. He has a standard issue kepi, and he wears an enlisted belt with brass “US” in oval buckle and a cap pouch at the front. On his right side is a bayonet & scabbard on the belt. He holds a musket with bayonet in his right hand. The backdrop is a camp scene showing tents & flags. Gilded brass mat & frame. Wood & paperboard case. CONDITION: image has no issues. Case is made up of parts from 2 different cases and there is no hinge. 2) A 6th plate ambrotype of 2 seated Federal Soldiers. They both appear to wear 4-button sack coats with vests beneath & blue kersey trousers. Each holds a pistol in their right hand, and one soldier has a non-regulation foot officer’s sword in his left hand. They both wear oil cloth kepis. The soldier on the right is smoking cheroot. Gilded brass frame with no mat. Thermoplastic case with label that reads, in part, “LITTLEFIELD, PARSONS & CO., DAGUERREOTYPE CASES”. CONDITION: image is quite nice with no damage. Case has a small crack in one corner. 3) A CDV size tintype of a soldier wearing an M1872 Infantry frock coat. He has a Civil War style belt with an oval brass “US” buckle. He wears a 45/70 bayonet scabbard on his right side. He has a musket in his left hand with fixed bayonet. The soldier is wearing a plain, unadorned kepi. Background is a studio drape. Gilded brass mat & frame. Wood & paperboard case. CONDITION: image is in fine condition and appears to be signed by the soldier below his feet. Mat & frame have a bit of verdigris. Case has a repaired hinge. 4) A 9th plate image showing a waist-up view of a Union Soldier wearing a 4-button sack coat. There is no equipment or other uniform parts visible. Gilded brass mat & frame. Partial thermoplastic case. CONDITION: image has a few bubbles & staining to the emulsion. The photo is mounted in half of a broken thermoplastic case. 5) A 16th plate chest-up view image of civilian gentleman. Gilded brass mat & frame. Thermoplastic case. CONDITION: light wear overall. 6) A 16th plate chest-up view image of civilian woman. Gilded brass mat & frame. Thermoplastic case. CONDITION: light wear overall.
