Alaska Black Bear Hunt – Cordova Region (2026 Season)
Experience the adventure of a lifetime on this fully guided Alaska black bear hunt in the scenic Cordova region. Our goal is always to take mature boars measuring 6 feet or better, with the occasional 8-footer harvested. Each hunt is conducted one-on-one (1x1) with an experienced guide to maximize your success.
Hunt Overview
Depending on the specific hunting area, you and your guide will be flown by small aircraft to camp the day before your hunt begins. Our portable spike camps are strategically located for the best hunting opportunities and are designed for both comfort and mobility.
Each camp features 8' x 8' (or larger) tents equipped with cots and heaters, ensuring a warm and comfortable stay in the Alaskan wilderness.
During April, May, and June, black bears move from their high, snow-covered denning areas down to the lush coastal grasslands, providing excellent hunting conditions and trophy potential.
After the Harvest
Once your bear is taken:
It will be tagged, skinned, and peeled
The meat is quartered and packed out to the extraction point
You may keep your bear meat, which can be processed locally in Cordova or Anchorage
If you choose not to take the meat, it will be donated to a local elder or charity, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
At the lodge, the hide is fleshed, turned (ears, lips, nose, tail, and knuckles), and salted for preservation.
Trophies are shipped to an Anchorage expeditor at the end of the season.

Alaska Professional Hunters Association (APHA) is a Section 501(c)(6), non-profit membership organization. Our members include professional guides and our mission is dedicated to the conservation of our wildlife resources. APHA appreciates the support of its donors and members in helping to further its programs and goals. Auction revenue funds a great portion of APHA's operating budget. The term “auction” refers to silent auction, live auction, online auction and raffle.
Any bid made at an APHA auction, whether in person at a live auction, by phone, online or at a silent auction, constitutes an unconditional offer to buy the item in question at the bid price. Unless a higher and subsequent bid is made, your bid creates a binding contract of purchase, obligates you to sign the bid ticket or, in the case of a phone or online bid, authorizes the person who took the bid to sign on your behalf AND requires that the bid amount be paid prior to the close of the auction. In the event the successful bid was made by phone or online, the bid price must be received before the close of the fifth business day after the close of the auction.
Any failure of compliance with the provision above will result in the addition of any costs incurred because of non-compliance, plus the addition of interest at the rate of 5% per month, or portion thereof, that payment is late. Auction items must be paid for by the close of the Banquet. Payments will be taken at the auction payment table during the evening auction. Payments can be made by cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. If the winning bidder of an auction item refuses to pay the winning bid price plus any premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid. If the next highest bidder declines the item or if the second highest bidder is unknown, the President shall dispose of the item at his/her discretion.
APHA strongly encourages Special Permit buyers to book with a licensed, registered guide/outfitter in the State, Province, Tribal Nation or Country he/she is hunting. Use of non-licensed guide/outfitters may be prohibited by law. It is the legal responsibility of the permit buyer/holder to familiarize themselves with, and abide by, the game, outfitting, guiding, firearm use/importation or other applicable laws in the State, Province or Country they are hunting.
ONLINE BIDDING: All online bidders will be required to pay a 5% buyer’s premium with a $250 cap.

FIREARMS: Before taking possession of your purchased firearm, the gun must be registered in compliance with all federal, state, and local firearms laws. To meet this compliance, APHA will ship the firearm, at the expense of the purchaser, from Headquarters to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder of your choice after the Banquet. APHA cannot transfer any firearm at the Banquet.
