An exciting 5-day, 1x1 guided, New Zealand wilderness tahr hunt awaits at beautiful Lake Hawea on New Zealand's South Island. Lake Hawea Hunting Safaris has donated a free-range rifle hunt for a wilderness bull tahr. Join outfitter Chris McCarthy for a mountain hunt in this amazing region. Hunt is during the prime rut season with open dates between May/June 2021. Alternative dates are available May/June 2020, May/June 2022. Included are accommodations (lodge accommodation on arrival day and night of the last hunting day basic tent camp while hunting), meals, 1x1 guide service, airport transfers and trophy fees for 1 bull tahr, helicopter access to hunting area also included. Hunt may be upgraded to include additional days and red stags from 320 – 600 class, fallow, chamois, Arapawa ram and South Pacific goat; see outfitter for details. Not included are before/after travel expenses, firearm permit ($25NZD),export tag ($60 at hunt conclusion), gratuities and dipping packing (approx. $400 per animal), shipping of trophies. Additional hunters welcome, 1x1 $7000, 2x1 4150pp, not suited to non hunters. Upgrade to a private land hunt with full time lodge accommodation + $1600, non hunters welcome on a private land hunt $250/day.
