1) CAVALRY SABER. Overall length: 41 1/2". Blade length: 35 1/2". An M1840 style cavalry saber w/ a plain blade featuring a single wide fuller w/ a narrow fuller on top. Blade is unmarked w/ a solid brass hilt & wire wrapped leather grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows light wear w/ some staining. 1/8" Of the tip is missing. (02-15444/BF).
2) BAYONET. Overall length: 26 3/8". A M1898 German epee type bayonet. Plain single fullered blade marked at the ricasso w/ back to back squirrels & “C.E.”. Nickel plated crossguard & pommel w/ 2 piece wood grips. Leather scabbard w/ nickel plated throat & tip. CONDITION: light wear overall. (02-15445/BF).
3) MACHETE. Overall length: 23 1/2". A WWII US machete marked on the blade, “US (logo) LEGITIMUS COLLINS & CO. 1945”. 2 Piece composite grip w/ 4 rivets on each side & a lanyard pole. Composite scabbard painted black w/ metal throat marked, “US” on the front & “B.M. CO. 2 1945” on the reverse. CONDITION: generally light wear overall. PROVENANCE: Collection of Brian C. Pinkerton. 4) 20TH CENTURY US M1852 NAVAL OFFICER. Overall length: 35 1/2". Blade length: 30". A 20th century example of the M1852 showing patriotic, nautical & foliate motifs etched over 2/3 of the blade. Etching includes a panel w/ the engraved name, “G.W. Leatherbury”. Sword marked at the ricasso, “GERMANY TRADE H-H MARK HILBORN HAMBURGER INC. NEW YORK MADE IN SOLINGEN GERMANY”. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped, simulated sharkskin grip. Leather covered iron scabbard w/ gilded brass mts. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish. Hilt & scabbard show light to moderate wear overall.
5) 20TH CENTURY US M1902 OFFICER’S SABER. Overall length: 36". Blade length: 28 3/4". Blade etched over 2/3 of its length w/ foliate & patriotic motifs including a panel that reads, “K.H. Kauffman”. Blade marked at the ricasso, “N.S. MEYER. INC. TRADEMARK COLONIAL MADE IN USA”. Plated hilt. Black composite formed grip. Plated scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish.
