5 LATE WWII JAPANESE  LAST DITCH  TYPE 30 BAYONETS

BY TOYODA. The situation of Japan in 1945 during World War 2 was dire w/ the Allied Forces were encroaching towards the home islands. The scarcity of resources during this time effected small arms manufacture towards the "last ditch" designs to save on resources. The maker primarily being TOYODA JIDOSHOKI SEISAKUSHO (Toyoda Automatic Loom Works). These bayonets being 20" overall, 15 5/8" blades, rough finish & edge being mostly sharpened half way or dull.
1) Square crossguard. Slight finger groove grips. Square pommel. CONDITION: fair overall w/ crude finish.
2) S# 59296. Square crossguard. Slight finger groove grips. Square pommel. Black painted scabbard. CONDITION: good overall bayonet. Good scabbard w/ flaking paint.
3) S# 3.10283. Straight crossguard. Slight finger groove grips. Square pommel. Wooden scabbard w/ steel tip held by string wrappings. CONDITION: good blade w/ fair appearance to rest of bayonet. Scabbard intact w/ marks.
4) S# 3.41605. This example appears early transition w/ only last ditch square pommel. Fullered fully sharpened blade. Straight crossguard. Finished finger groove grips. Steel scabbard. CONDITION: bayonet appears good overall. Fair scabbard w/ pitting, patina & marks.
5) S# 87073. Straight crossguard. Slight finger groove grips. Square pommel. Wooden scabbard w/ metal tip, metal throat & wire wrappings. CONDITION: good overall bayonet as crude finish. Good scabbard patina w/ wear & patina. (02-16395-1/MD). $600-800.
