5 WWI & WWII MILITARY FLARE PISTOLS.
1) FRENCH. A WWII era French flare pistol with a brass body. The pistol has an iron hammer, trigger, & release mechanism. There is a spot at the butt for a lanyard ring that is missing. 2-Piece wood grips. The lower facets of the barrel are marked “CHOBERT_PAR'S” & “16.RLE LAFAYETTE”. The underside of the frame is serial numbered “6807”, and the top of the barrel is marked “DEPOSE”. CONDITION: pistol shows light wear & functions properly. 2) BRITISH. A British WWI/WII Schermuly flare gun with a brass body. This flare gun has an iron trigger, release mechanism, & hammer, along with an iron lanyard ring at the butt. 2-Piece wood grips. The barrel is marked with a broad arrow and 4 British proof marks. The frame is stamped “2397” with an elephant. The other side of the frame has several proof marks along with the words “W.W. GREENER BIRMINGHAM”. CONDITION: pistol shows light wear overall & functions well. 3) GERMAN. A German WWII flare pistol with what appears to be an aluminum body & iron trigger guard, trigger, & hammer. 2-Piece wood grips. There is an iron lanyard ring at the butt. The side of the frame is stamped “Waffenfabrik Walther Zella Mahlis (Thur) Walther (in ribbon) 57703L”. CONDITION: pistol shows light wear overall & functions well. 4) US. A US WWII flare pistol with an iron body, trigger, & release mechanism. 2-Piece composite grips. The side of the pistol is marked “CECV 1943 U.S. PROPERTY PISTOL PYROTECHNIC M8” in a triangle. CONDITION: pistol has an overall oxidized finish but appears to function well. 5) FINNISH. A Finnish flare pistol of the WWII era made entirely of iron with a lanyard ring at the butt. 2-Piece wood grip. The left side of the frame is marked “SA” in a rectangle and numbered “124”.
