Imagine the fall or winter in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, snow on the jagged peaks, and you are hunting your dream alpine animals of the South Pacific, the tahr and chamois. Four hunters are invited to join Shane Johnston of Four Seasons Safaris New Zealand on this 5 day, 2x1 guided hunt for tahr and chamois. In addition, each hunter is allocated $1,000 towards the fee of a trophy red stag. Schedule this rifle hunt with outfitter for open dates April-July 2020, only. No alternate dates are available. Shane Johnston, your outfitter/guide of over 20 years, is an SCI Life Member, recipient of the Nebraska Chapter 2010 Outfitter of the Year award, Dallas Safari Club's 2007 Outfitter of the Year award and Houston Safari Club's 2013 Professional Hunter of the Year. Be assured you are in the hands of one of the finest professionals in the industry. Access to the high alpine areas where tahr and chamois inhabit is with the use of our large turbine helicopter, which is an exhilarating experience for all involved. Experience the breathtaking scenery of the Southern Alps while hunting the majestic bull tahr and the agile chamois in the most stunning alpine country. You will have the privilege of hunting with Four Seasons’ team of experienced, professional and enthusiastic mountain guides dedicated to hunting your animals of choice. Included are accommodations for 4 nights in the heart of the hunt concessions in the alps, in a rustic mountain cabin for tahr, spike camp for chamois, and if you choose to foot hunt the alps for both species, a high degree of fitness is required. Alternatively, you can upgrade to stay at the resort if you choose to do an aerial assist trophy hunt. Meals, transportation from Christchurch, 2x1 guide service, field prep of trophies, the trophy fee for a bull tahr for two hunters and the trophy fee for two chamois for two hunters with a further $1,000 per hunter to put towards the fees of a red stag are included. The stag hunting will take place on Four Seasons' very own exclusive private estate with an abundance of world class stags in a setting that most would only dream of. Four Seasons Safaris specializes in trophy hunting for all of New Zealand's big game animals as well as offering fishing for trout, ocean fishing, helicopter safaris, scenic tours, pamper-me spa days, golf, horse treks, whale watching, swimming with dolphins, scuba diving, scenic train excursions, shopping and so much more. Hunt can be upgraded to include additional hunters and non-hunters as well as additional species. Additional days can be booked as well as many activities and adventures for the entire family. Not included are before/after hunt expenses, firearm permits (NZ $25 at airport), helicopter access to the alps for tahr and chamois hunts, which is required at approximately $2,500+ per hunter, high country resort accommodations are $450 per room night, with our award winning gourmet chef, which is where hunters will stay for aerial assist trophy hunting the tahr and chamois, taxidermy/expediting, export fees and gratuities.
