5-day Spring Black Bear Hunt in Beautiful Cordova Donated by Sam Fejes at Fejes Guide Service
With plenty of food near the coastal areas of Cordova, our black bear have always been plentiful. Both during the spring and fall hunts.

As always, we have goals, trying to achieve 6 feet or better, with an occasional 8 footer taken. Black bear hunts are conducted one guide to one client to ensure your ultimate success.

Depending on where you hunt in the Cordova area, both client and guide are transported by the use of a small aircraft the day before your hunt begins. Each black bear spike camp is portable and removable to ensure the best possible area to hunt. Each spike camp tent is 8'x8' or larger and is equipped with cots and heaters for your comfort.

Black bear habitat varies from high covered snow peaks of their denning areas to the coastal grass areas during April, May and June.

Once your trophy is taken, it is then tagged, skinned and peeled, the meat is quartered and packed out to the extraction point. You are welcome to take your black bear meat with you and a local butcher in Cordova or Anchorage can process the meat for you.

If you choose not to take your meat with you, it will be donated to a local elder or charity in Cordova, never wasted.

Once the hide and skull are back in the lodge, the hide is fleshed, ears, lips, nose and tail are turned and knuckles are out, it is then salted.

Trophies are normally shipped from the lodge to an expeditor in Anchorage at the end of the season.

Dates are May of 2024.

Additional hunters ($13,500) and non-hunters ($5,250) can be added for a fee. Brown bear can be added (for a $15,000) fee. Included in hunt: guide and client (1x1), skinning and salting and preparation of hide, meals and lodging, air transportation during hunt.

Non-included: transportation to/from Cordova, Alaska ($1,250), license ($160) and black bear tag fees ($450), gratuities.

SPECIAL NOTE: For youth 16 years or younger, one parent (mother or father, no exceptions) may accompany at no charge.
