HOLSTER & WWI BINOCULARS.
1) 6 SLINGS. This choice group of slings includes 1 Mill’s Patent tropical sling for a 30-40 Krag. / 1 M1885 haversack sling in black bridle leather. / 1 M1885 canteen sling. / 1 Civil War cavalry sword strap/sling marked, “GAYLORD” for use w/ the M1851 saber belt. / 1 M1887 Springfield rifle sling. / 1 Leather sling for a trapdoor rifle. CONDITION: all slings show light to moderate wear & appear complete. (02-15756/BF).
2) HOLSTER. A 38 cal. pistol holster in brown russet leather w/ a “US” in oval on the front marked on the flap, “D / 1CAV / 37”. Back of belt loop marked, “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1910 H.B.K.”. A rare example of an early holster marked to a specific cavalry unit. CONDITION: holster shows light wear overall.
3) BINOCULARS. A fine pair of French made binoculars measuring approx. 4 3/4" square w/ brown leather covered barrels. Eye pieces marked, “L. PETIT FABT. PARIS”. Right bridge marked, “4 1/2X”. Brown leather case complete w/ shoulder strap marked on the top, “G. BATTLE / 1917 / HX”. Battle is purported to be a British officer. CONDITION: binoculars appear fully functional.
