6 EARLY U.S. NAVAL OFFICER & ENLISTED UNIFORMS

1890-1915.
1) CAPTAIN. A scarce early M1895 US Navy Captain's Undress Pattern uniform coat. Navy blue coat with black mohair trim along the edges of the front & back. The collar has extremely finely executed, silver bullion Captain's eagles on either side along with equally well done silver bullion fouled anchors on each side. 6 Button front with plain black composite buttons. Each sleeve has 4 gold bullion stripes 3/4" in width along with a gold bullion star. There are 2 inside pockets & a black polished cotton lining. CONDITION: very light wear throughout.
2) LIEUTENANT. A nice early M1895 US Navy Lieutenant's Undress Pattern uniform coat. Navy blue coat with black mohair trim along the edges of the front & back. The collar has well executed, silver bullion Lieutenant's bars on either side along with silver bullion fouled anchors surmounted by gold oak leaves indicating the Lieutenant was attached to the Supply Corps. 6 Button front with plain black composite buttons. Each sleeve has 1 gold bullion 3/4" stripe along with a 3/8" stripe with Supply Corps oak leaves above. The left sleeve has 2 bullion overseas chevrons above the oak leaves. There are 2 inside pockets & a black polished cotton lining. CONDITION: uniform generally shows light wear, however there is an abrasion to the mohair on the left front & a small hole in the uniform near the abrasion.
3) LIEUTENANT COMMANDER. A fine early M1895 US Navy Lieutenant Commander's Undress Pattern uniform coat. Navy blue coat with black mohair trim along the edges of the front & back. The collar has finely executed, silver bullion oak leaves on either side along with equally well done silver bullion fouled anchors on each side. 6 Button front with plain black composite buttons. Each sleeve has 2 gold bullion 3/4" stripes & a 3/8" stripe along with a gold bullion star. There are 2 inside pockets & a black polished cotton lining. CONDITION: very light wear throughout.
4) STOREKEEPER. A blue US Navy enlisted jumper likely of the Spanish American War period with a very interesting silver bullion shield shaped rating badge for a 1st Class Storekeeper on velvet sewn to the left sleeve. Below the rating badge are 3 gold bullion overseas chevrons. The right sleeve has a silver bullion Rifleman qualification badge. CONDITION: uniform is a bit faded but in fine shape overall.
5) RECRUIT. A Spanish American War to WWI Seaman Recruit white jumper with blue bib. There is also 1/2" blue trim on the cuffs & base of the jumper. CONDITION: very light wear overall with some fraying to threads.
6) BOSUN. A Spanish American War to WWI blue jumper for a 3rd Class Bosun's Mate. The right sleeve has a shield shaped 3rd Class Bosun's Mate rating badge sewn below the elbow. The left sleeve has a Gun Pointer Qualification badge below a 5 pointed star. Below the badge are 2 bullion overseas chevrons. This jumper also includes the pants. CONDITION: jumper shows expected wear but no notable damage. (02-16052/BF). $800-1,200.
