6 Nights and 5 effective hunting days, rustic jungle cabin accommodations, meals, drinks and
alcoholic drinks with moderation, 1x1 guide, skinners, scouting, trophy preparation, transport
from the airport (Chetumal) to camp and back.
Hunting is mostly on a machan or high blind, though some species are hunted on foot. For
Brocket Deer the machan is the most effective method and the best time usually March and
April, especially for the red which is without a doubt the most prestigious and sought-after trophy
in the Mexican jungle, and of course they are also good for the beautiful grey brocket.
The hunting area is located in Calakmul, Campeche a two-and-a-half-hour drive for the nearest
airport of Chetumal, Quintana Roo.
We recommend the use of a 12-gauge shot gun for all around hunting, with 2 or BB pellet size
for the birds and from 4Buck and bigger for the deer. Rifle hunting can prove extremely difficult
because the jungle can be incredibly thick and the visibility can be extremely poor (10-25 yards
at the most in most machans).
Although we have an area with incredibly high numbers of all of our offered species, by nature
the game is very skittish and hard to see; this is a hunt that requires patience and persistence.
Every day you go hunting in motorcycles, razors or quads with your guide, you go back to camp
for lunch and in the afternoon, you go hunting again until dark, in camp you have diner and
maybe a shower and a couple of beers.
Example of Itinerary:
Day 1 You arrive to Chetumal early in the morning, you´re driven to the hunting area, you have
lunch and hunt in the afternoon.
Day 2 to Day 5 You hunt mornings and evenings, maybe sometimes the whole day packing
lunch with you.
Day 6 You hunt in the morning, then after lunch and fare wells you are driven back to Chetumal.
For any opening you want to come in, you must arrive on Wednesday and exit camp on Monday
around midday.

You should expect very warm weather, but sometimes at night it can get chili, this is very high
jungle after all. Expected temperatures are between 75 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and at night
50 to 70.
It normally should not rain, but a rain poncho or rain gear is never a bad idea.
Camp is very rustic, basically Wood cabins with insect protection nets, a fan, hammocks for
resting in midday, and of course beds, with mattresses, clean sheets and a shared bathroom
with shower and running water. The kitchen and dining area are also a wooded cabin separate
to the sleeping quarters.
Our camp staff is very complete, with 4 head guides, two scouts, two kitchen staff and cook, and
there is always help readily available for anything you need.
We serve delicious and typical food or southeastern Mexico, we also eat a lot of what is hunted
during the trip, many animals here in the jungle are true culinary delicacies! We can attend
every eating preference with no problem, we just need to know in advance what that would be.
